मतदानाच्या तीन टप्प्यांपैकी पहिल्या टप्प्यातील मतदान पूर्ण झाले आहे. आता परवा (२३ एप्रिल) दुसऱ्या टप्प्यातील मतदान होईल. मतदान करणे हा १८ वर्षांवरील प्रत्येकाचा हक्क आहे आणि प्रत्येकाने तो बजावलाच पाहिजे असे, अशा आशयाच्या जाहिराती आता सगळीकडे दिसायला लागल्या आहेत. भारताच्या उज्ज्वल भविष्यासाठी तुम्ही मतदान केले पाहिजे, असे आमिर खानही सांगतोय. करण जोहर, अभिषेक बच्चन आदी मंडळीही बोट दाखवून मतदानाचे आवाहन करताहेत. ‘किंग्ज इलेव्हन पंजाब’ या ‘आयपीएल’ टीमची मालकीण असलेली प्रिटी झिंटा म्हणे मतदानासाठी दक्षिण आफ्रिकेहून भारतात येणार आहे! आपल्या आवाहनाला आणि स्टंट्सना दाद देऊन तरुण पिढी मतदान करेल, अशी त्यांची अपेक्षा असावी…
पण प्रश्न असा आहे की, भारतातल्या तरुण मतदारांनी मतदान का आणि कशासाठी करावे?
मतदान करणे हा हक्क आहे, हे मानलं तरी तो हक्क त्यांनी का बजावावा?
देश चालवण्यासाठी सरकार लागतं हे मान्य - पण मतदानापुरती लोकशाही तरुणांनी का म्हणून सहन करावी?
सत्तेवर असताना पाच वर्षांत कधी तरुणांची आठवण न होणाऱ्यांसाठी आम्ही का म्हणून मतदान करावे?
पक्षनिष्ठेच्या नावाखाली साठी ओलांडलेल्यांना महत्त्वाची पदं वाटणाऱ्यांसाठी आम्ही का म्हणून मतदान करावे? साठ वर्षांवरील तरुण नेतृत्व (?) आम्ही आमच्या माथी का म्हणून घ्यावे?
तरुणांचा विचार न करता केवळ पुढच्या ‘टर्म’चा विचार करत स्वतःचा अजेंडा पुढे रेटणाऱ्यांसाठी आम्ही का म्हणून मतदान करावे?
भारनियमनासारख्या प्रश्नावर कायमचा उपाय शोधण्याऐवजी त्याकडे निवडणुकीचा एक मुद्दा म्हणून बघणाऱ्यांसाठी आम्ही का म्हणून मतदान करावे?
आयुष्यात बांधावरूनही शेती न पाहता, ‘शेतीचा विकास करू,’ असे सांगत शेतकऱ्यांना शक्य तितके लुटणाऱ्या नेत्यांना आम्ही का म्हणून मतदान करावे?
रोजगाराचा प्रश्न सोडविण्याऐवजी निवडणूक काळापुरती पैशाची भीक तरुणांपुढे फेकणाऱ्यांना आम्ही का म्हणून मतदान करावे?
चोर-दरोडेखोर, बलात्कारी, भ्रष्टाचारी जेव्हा नेता म्हणून निवडणुकीला उभा राहतो, तेव्हा त्यांच्यासाठी आम्ही का म्हणून मतदान करावे?
केवळ पोस्टरवर झळकून दिल्लीतील नेत्यांच्या पुढे-पुढे करणाऱ्यांसाठी आम्ही का म्हणून मतदान करावे?
आमच्याकडून करवसुली करून स्वतःची तिजोरी भरणाऱ्यांसाठी आम्ही का म्हणून मतदान करावे?
पंतप्रधानपदासारख्या सर्वोच्च पदाची आणि त्या पदावरील व्यक्तीची आबही न राखणाऱ्यांसाठी आम्ही का म्हणून मतदान करावे?
शेकडो एकर जमिनी बळकावून उमेदवारी अर्जात जमिनीचा एक तुकडाही नसल्याचे भासवणाऱ्यांसाठी आम्ही का म्हणून मतदान करावे?
निवडणुकांनतर गुळाच्या ढेपेजवळ मुंग्या जमाव्यात तसे सर्वाधिक जागा मिळालेल्या पक्षासोबत युती आणि आघाडी करणाऱ्या पक्षांसाठी आम्ही का म्हणून मतदान करावे?
दहशतवादासारखे प्रश्न ‘आ वासून’ उभे असताना बुढिया, गुडियासारखे थिल्लर खेळ चालवणाऱ्यांसाठी आम्ही का म्हणून मतदान करावे?
पैसा, जात, सवंग हे मुद्देच आमदार-खासदार ठरवणार असतील, तर आम्ही का म्हणून मतदान करावे?
देशातील सर्वोच्च पदावर २१ व्या शतकातील प्रश्नांची जाण नसणारी व्यक्तीच आरूढ होणार, हे माहित असतानादेखील डोळ्यावर पट्टी बांधून अाम्ही का म्हणून मतदान करावे?
आम्हा पाच जणांना (Clone, Grid, Oracle, Face Off and Sudoku) पडलेले हे काही प्रश्न…

जर आपल्यापैकी प्रत्येकजण हाच विचार करायला लागला तर मग हा चिखल साफ़ करणार कोण? कोणीतरी घाणीत उतरल्याशिवाय, घाण साफ़ होणार कशी? शुद्ध हवा मिळेपर्यंत श्वास घेणारच नाही का आपण?

आपल्याला त्यातल्या त्यात तरुण, educated, आणि कमी corrupt ऑप्शन्स शोधवेच लागतील. नाहीतर स्वतः राजकारणात उतरण्याची तयारी ठेवावी लागेल.
If you are not ready to rule, somebody else will rule you. get ready to get ruled by wrong people then!

When I read these peimestic attitudes, I really get worried about our country. We all need to understand that not everything is going to change overnight or in one election..It will happen gradually. But process has to start. Previously, when people in india were ignorent, there were no ways to know about where world is going, what are their rights etc. But now with changing times and technology, our generation has lot of tools, and knowledge. This has pressurized the government to take certain actions in demanding times. since janata is not ignorent as before, neither the politicians can be the way they were. But we need to keep faith and choose the best and the yougest. I disagree with the statement 'kaay farak padato?" if we keep taking this approach, one day we will beruled by taalibaanis. we need to take the control of the situation instead of surrendering…remember geetasaar. and remember that no Krishna is going to take awtaar to save us from this grave situation either.

Even I disagree too with the statement ' काय फरक पडतो’. हे मत असलेल्यांची संख्या प्रचंड आहे. त्यांनी जर चांगला मनुष्य निवडून त्याला मत दिले तर निदान एक वाईट राज्यकर्ता कमी होईल. असे हळूहळू पण निश्चित चांगले नेते मिळू शकतील. कधीकधी एखादे मतही निर्णायक ठरू शकते.

'देशाच्या नेत्यांनी, त्यांच्या पक्षांनी तरुणांना ध्यानात घेतलं पाहिजे आणि त्यांच्यासमोर एक आदर्श नेता म्हणून स्वतःला सादर केलं पाहिजे' या कल्पनेच्या अनुषंगाने चर्चा व्हावी हा या लेखाचा उद्देश! पाच वर्षे गायब राहून हे राजकारणी अतिशय साळसूदपणे पाच वर्षांनंतर पुन्हा मत मागण्यासाठी समोर येतात - त्यांना त्यांच्या बेजबाबदारपणाची जाणीव करून देण्यासाठी हे प्रश्न उपस्थित केले आहेत. तुम्हालाही काही प्रश्न पडले असतील तर जरूर मांडा…या चर्चेतून पॉलीटीकल प्रोसेसमध्ये आपला सहभाग वाढावा ही एक भाबडी अपेक्षा…

n yes, i think, there are so many ways to change our country, to change our system..and to create bright future of our india! voting is just one of them.. n if anybody wants to choose his or her own way, i guess he or she has full right to do so…
i love my country n i do care for my india. but it simply dosent mean that i will take care of my country through political process..

Exactly! I understand the reason behind this post. Our democratic system needs a change, at least in cities.
There should be branches of government offices like banks. And people should have single window system to submit their issues/queries… and also to track them. Like in most of the offices there is established system/process to solve the problems.
I know I sound like an IT snob, but I strongly feel, thats the way to go..

जाहिरातींमध्ये लिहितात तुमचं मत एखाद्या योग्य उमेदवाराला द्या, पण सगळे एकाच माळेचे मणी असतील तर कोणाला मतदान करणार? नकाराधिकार(व्हेटो) चा फारसा उपयोग होतच नाही. त्याचा विचार तरी होत असेल का हा मोठा प्रश्न आहे… आणि शेवटी कोणीतरी निवडून येतोच जो पात्र नसतो….. मग यावर उपाय काय? एखादेवेळी मतदानावर बहिष्कार टाकून बघायला हवा… बरेचसे उमेदवार कोट्याधीश असतात आणि प्रत्येक निवडणुकीनंतर दहापट श्रीमंत होतात… थोडीफार जी प्रगती होते ती निवडणुकीच्या वेळी होते…
